Position Overview

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Postdoctoral Teaching Scholar will play a key role in the development and delivery of integrative foundational undergraduate courses in biology, chemistry, physics, and related disciplines. Scholars will collaborate with faculty and students to design and implement research-informed instructional strategies that enhance undergraduate education, incorporate technologies from the modern workforce, and promote scientific communication.
Primary Responsibilities
Course Development & Teaching: Working alongside current faculty, design and teach integrative foundational science courses using active learning techniques and digital tools to engage students in real-world problem-solving. Scholars may also be asked to teach an existing course at the undergraduate or graduate level that is relevant to the course(s) they are developing.
Curriculum Innovation: Contribute to the implementation of research-based pedagogical approaches that foster critical thinking, collaboration, and communication to solve societal grand challenges using molecular sciences.
Assessment & Student Engagement: Develop and implement assessment tools to evaluate student learning and improve instructional effectiveness and student success.
Professional Development: Participate in teaching workshops, mentoring programs, and research collaborations that support career growth..
Research & Mentorship: Engage in discipline-based education research (DBER) related to interdisciplinary undergraduate science education. Provide mentoring to undergraduate and graduate students engaged in curriculum development and educational research.

Postdoc to TT in STEM, Utah State

The Emma Eccles Jones College of Education & Human Services (CEHS) at Utah State University (USU) invites applications for a postdoctoral fellow with interest and expertise contributing to research, scholarship, and pedagogy focused on access and accessibility in STEM (broadly defined). The fellowship, supported by a National Science Foundation (NSF) institutional postdoctoral training grant, will provide 18 to 24 months of mentored training focused on enhancing access and accessibility to STEM across multiple disciplines. Critically, upon completion of the fellowship period with adequate performance (evaluated multiple times per year using a 360-degree review procedure), the fellow will receive an offer to become a tenure-track assistant professor within the college.
The postdoctoral training period will provide scaffolded research opportunities with a primary and secondary mentor across two departments in the college. Participating departments in this program include: Human Development & Family Studies, Instructional Technology & Learning Sciences, Kinesiology & Health Science, Psychology, the School of Teacher Education & Leadership, and Speech & Hearing Sciences. Examples of existing projects and potential mentors within these departments can be found here (https://cehs.usu.edu/faculty-employment). In addition to collaborative work, the fellow will receive professional development funds each year to support their own independent line of research and travel to attend professional conferences.
Responsibilities include engagement in ongoing projects, development of new research projects, manuscript preparation, conference presentations, project management, grant proposal training and submission, and instruction of at least one course across the 18 to 24 month training period. Importantly, training for all responsibilities will be explicitly provided as a part of the fellowship curriculum.
Per NSF regulations, applicants must be a U.S. citizen, national, or permanent resident.
Compensation:
- $70,000 (firm) per year during the postdoctoral fellow period
Timeline:
Fellowship will start no later than January 1, 2026; earlier start dates are available and preferred
Pending adequate performance in the postdoctoral fellow role, faculty position will begin August 1, 2027

Position Details: The Physics Department at Wesleyan University is seeking to fill a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level to begin July 1, 2026. Position Summary
The Department of Computational Mathematics, Science and Engineering (CMSE) in the College of Natural Science at Michigan State University (MSU) leads an open-rank, inter-college search with the CREATE for STEM Institute, the Program in Mathematics Education (PriME), and the Departments of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Statistics and Probability (STT), and Counseling, Educational Psychology, and Special Education (CEPSE) to identify a tenure system scholar in postsecondary Computing Education, Data Science Education, AI Education, or overlapping and related disciplines. This position is part of our continued commitment to address major and enduring challenges in undergraduate science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) teaching and learning. - A CV with, at a minimum, a list of publications, accepted or pending proposals for funding/resources, contributed and invited talks, teaching and mentoring roles, contributions to institutional and academic communities, and efforts in service and/or public outreach.
- A 2- 3 page research statement highlighting past research accomplishments and future plans. This statement should include experience or plans to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion in computing, data science and/or AI education, or related research disciplines. Applicants should explain in this statement how their research aligns with the target areas and impacts the experiences and life outcomes of undergraduate students who have been historically and contemporarily disenfranchised in STEM undergraduate education.
4. A 1-2 page teaching statement describing the applicant’s experience in instruction and research mentoring of graduate and undergraduate students, including experiences or plans to create an inclusive and equitable learning environment for students. The teaching statement should address which courses the applicant is prepared to teach, including course level and format (e.g., large lecture, small seminar, lab, etc.).
5. A sample of scholarly writing demonstrating the applicant’s ability to conduct and communicate scholarly research that may lead to improvements in undergraduate STEM education.
6. Names and contact information of three references, with at least one who can address the applicant’s role in research innovations.
