Assistant Teaching Professor, Department of Physics, Georgetown University

The Department of Physics at Georgetown University invites applications for a full-time non-tenure-line renewable faculty appointment beginning Fall 2019. Responsibilities include teaching, physics education research (PER), and curriculum development and assessment in support of pedagogical initiatives in the department.

Georgetown Physics has been an early implementer of many PER methods, including Tutorials in Introductory Physics. Current projects include development of innovative courses for non-science students, integration of computation into the physics curriculum, and novel use of technology in the classroom.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in physics or a closely related field. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in teaching with evidence of teaching effectiveness, in physics education research, and in engaging students of diverse backgrounds.
