VAP at Dickinson College

STEM Education Development Officer at NRAO


The National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) headquarters in Charlottesville, Virginia (on the grounds of the University of Virginia, and near the University’s astronomy department) is recruiting for a fulltime, salaried  “STEM Education Development Officer.” Funded by the observatory’s management organization, Associated Universities, Inc. (AUI), the STEM Education Development Officer will identify and implement opportunities for AUI/NRAO to contribute to the advancement of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) education via partnerships, grants, and the leveraging of existing NRAO and other AUI assets, which include a large staff of scientists and engineers and a talented, geographically dispersed EPO staff. Such opportunities may include development of standard-based curriculum support resources for grades K-16, training of teachers (and teachers of teachers), and partnerships with outside organizations who are funding and/or spearheading innovation in STEM education at a national level. STEM Ed Research Analysis @ Science and Technology Policy Institute in DC


The Science and Technology Policy Institute (STPI) is a non-profit federally funded research and development center that provides analytical support on science and technology (S&T) policy to the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy and other federal agencies.

We are looking for candidates with a PhD in science, technology, engineering and mathematics education (STEM Ed) or a STEM PhD with a record of scholarship in education and strong applied research skills.
