Non-TT Instructor at Louisiana State University
Non-tenure track Instructor physics and astronomy position(s) are available beginning as early as Spring 2013. Full-time positions are available for a term of one year; part-time positions are available on a semester basis. Continuation of employment is possible, contingent on performance and the availability of adequate funding. Responsibilities: teaches undergraduate classes in astronomy, physical science, and algebra-based and calculus-based physics classes. Full-time positions normally teach four courses/semester, but one course may be replaced with equivalent number of hours of department service if approved by the department. Required Qualifications: Master's or equivalent degree in physics, astronomy, or a closely related field. Additional Qualifications Desired: Ph.D. or equivalent degree in physics, astronomy, or a closely related field. A.B.D. (All But Dissertation) candidates will be considered but must have Ph.D. by May 31, 2013. Preference will be given to candidates with previous teaching experience.
