The Department of Physics seeks applicants for a Clinical Assistant Professor position who will serve as our Director of Entry-Level Physics Instruction. This position is a long-term, non-tenure-track faculty academic year appointment with faculty rank and promotion based on experience and productivity. The position, which will begin in Fall 2013, requires a Ph.D. in physics with a specialization in Physics Education strongly preferred. The Director will be responsible for teaching algebra and calculus-based introductory physics courses and coordinating the delivery of several large enrollment physics courses offered every semester. Other responsibilities will include the supervision and training of graduate teaching, oversight of our Physics Learning Center facilities, as other duties as assigned. The successful candidate should be enthusiastic about teaching and working with students.
