Position Description

The University of Washington Bothell (UWB) seeks dynamic physics educators to join the Physical Sciences Division of the School of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). We invite applicants for one or more full-time (100%) lecturer positions for a 9-month service period with opportunities to teach during the summer. Appointments are for up to five years, renewable, and are not tenure eligible. The start date is September 16, 2020.
The University of Washington Bothell is building strength in a new undergraduate degree in physics. The primary responsibilities of these positions are teaching, mentoring undergraduates, and service.  The successful candidate is expected to engage in modern pedagogy, promote equity in a diverse student population, engage students in undergraduate research, and work enthusiastically in an inclusive and interdisciplinary culture of learning.

Qualifications

  • A Ph.D. or foreign equivalent in physics or closely related field
  • Experience with modern teaching methods in physics
