Part-Time Physics Lecturer (ISLE active learning philosophy), Rutgers

The Department of Physics at Rutgers University-Newark phys.rutgers.edu invites applications for one Part-Time Lecturer (PTL) position beginning September 1, 2020.

Teaching duties include a 3-credit algebra-based General Physics lecture and several recitation sections (1 credit each). The department recently overhauled the introductory physics courses using the active learning educational philosophy Investigative Science Learning Environment. The PTL will attend weekly trainings with lead instructors and collaborate to trouble-shoot issues in implementation.

The candidate is expected to have a MS or Ph.D. in Physics, Physics Education, or a related discipline by the time of appointment. The candidate should have demonstrated excellence in physics instruction based on physics education research. Experience implementing Investigative Science Learning Environment (ISLE) is preferred.
