The Department of Physics at the University of North Texas is seeking a Lecturer to serve in a continuing, full-time position to start in August 2023. The Lecturer position is an important, pedagogically oriented element of the department and plays a key role in supporting courses that serve physics majors as well as courses serving other STEM and non-science majors.
The Lecturer will be expected to teach 3-4 courses per semester utilizing a variety of activity learning techniques. Possible courses include introductory physics (calculus-based or algebra-based), introductory astronomy, science and technology of sound, and core undergraduate physics courses. The lecturer will also be expected to supervise and mentor graduate Teaching Assistants who teach recitation sections and to support the Physics Department through service activities such as serving on department committees, assisting with student recruitment, and undergraduate advising.

Minimum Qualifications
- Master of Science degree in Physics, Astrophysics, or Physics Education
- Experience teaching courses in physics and/or astronomy
- Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Physics, Astrophysics, or Physics Education
- Demonstrated interactive and engaged teaching
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusion and experience working with diverse student populations
