Lecturer at North Dakota State University

 The Department of Physics at North Dakota State University invites applications for a one-year position as a Lecturer in physics beginning January 03, 2022. The teaching load for this position will be two introductory large-enrollment physics courses each semester, as well as opportunities for service and research for summer duties. These courses will be taught in-person. The department is committed to equity, inclusion and diversity and expects the successful candidate to be likewise committed. For the equity/diversity statement, the candidate can articulate how they’ve been committed to equity and inclusion thus far in their life. All interviews will be conducted online. An on-campus visit will be offered for the finalist to look for housing.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Physics or closely related field (conferred by start date)
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching physics courses
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • PhD in Physics or closely related field
  • Demonstrated understanding and ability to implement interactive engagement methods in large-enrollment courses
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching college physics as instructor of record
