Academic Specialist at Northeastern University

Responsibilities
The College of Professional Studies at Northeastern University has developed innovative graduate programs in education at both the masters and doctoral level. These programs are offered in innovative formats including online and hybrid. These are practitioner-focused programs that integrate foundational work with specialized areas designed to prepare individuals to advance and succeed in teaching and leadership roles. The programs integrate a project-based approach with rigorous academic work.

The College seeks a non-tenure track teaching and learning/curriculum and instruction faculty who will teach a full time load of 36 quarter hours. Actual course load will vary with other responsibilities, which might include curriculum development, program evaluation, faculty mentoring, and doctoral project advising.

Responsibilities include: teaching performance; student advising; facilitating a quality, high-level experience for students in general; developing course content and materials and ensuring appropriate fit with program and course objectives; curriculum review and development; supporting admissions and recruitment activities; serving on faculty and college committees; and serving on doctoral committees and reviewing scholarly work. Nights are required with some weekends possible.

Qualifications
This position requires a commitment to teaching excellence and a high-level of student service. A strong record of teaching experience appropriate to the doctoral-level is required, or substantial professional experience and accomplishment within an appropriate field. Appropriate terminal degree is required.

Additional Information
This is a non-tenure track, renewable position.
