West Virginia University invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in science education research. The successful applicant will develop a research program to determine effective teaching strategies for STEM subjects at the primary, secondary and/or collegiate levels. This program should include development and assessment of innovative outreach and education activities both in student learning and student recruitment/retention to STEM majors and careers. It is desirable that the candidate focus on introducing nanoscience and engineering concept to students, including the ethical and societal ramifications of these fields. The successful candidate will have graduate training or professional experience in education research as well as graduate coursework in a STEM discipline. A doctoral degree is required. Appointments at the level of Assistant Professor are expected, although higher ranks, commensurate with the applicants’ record and experience, will be considered.
