Assistant/Associate Academic Specialist: Higher Education at Northeastern University
Responsibilities
The College of Professional Studies at Northeastern University has developed an innovative doctor or education program to address the increasing need for individuals working in educational or learning environments to posses doctoral level competencies. This is a practitioner-focused program that integrates leadership with specialized areas designed to prepare individuals to advance and succeed in senior level leadership roles. The program integrates a project-based approach with rigorous academic work.

The College seeks a non-tenure track faculty who will teach full-time. Actual course load will vary with other responsibilities associated with the Doctor of Education program, which might include curriculum development, program evaluation, faculty mentoring, and doctoral project advising.

Responsibilities include: teaching performance; student advising; ensure a quality high-level experience for students in general; develop course content and materials and ensure appropriate fit with program and course objectives; curriculum review and development; establish; review and interview student applicants and support the admissions and recruitment process; serve on faculty and college committees; and serve on doctoral committees and review scholarly work. Nights are required with some weekends possible.

Qualifications
This position requires a commitment to teaching excellence and a high-level of student service. Appropriate terminal degree is required. A strong record of teaching experience appropriate to the doctoral-level is required, as is demonstrated leadership experience in higher education, or executive level experience in an appropriate field.

Additional Information
This is a non-tenure track renewable position.
