This tenure track appointment begins in January 2010.
Responsibilities: The faculty member will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses including general physics, mechanics and electrodynamics as well as science courses for non majors. All faculty members are also expected to supervise undergraduate research, mentor students, develop a research program and obtain external funding through grant writing. Other responsibilities include advising majors and senior projects, serving on University and departmental committees and performing community service and other duties as required in support of organizational goals.
Qualifications: An earned doctorate in Physics, the ability to teach with technology, familiarity with instructional methods that promote student engagement, as well as evidence of scholarly research and outstanding teaching ability are required.
