Responsibilities of the position include:
* Teaching Physics courses (Intro. I and II, Principles I and II) and either Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Math, or Physical Science courses. Summer teaching optional.
* Academic advising.
* Assisting with division projects (Math Tournament, MathCounts, Science Fair, etc.) and committees.
* Departmental planning and development.
* Other duties as assigned.
Minimum requirements for the position include:
* Masters in physics or related field with at least18 graduate semester hours (27 quarter hours) in physics (excluding thesis and research credit hours) and either biology, chemistry, engineering or math.
* A firm commitment to the teaching-learning process in the two-year community college.
* Computer skills and a willingness to apply technology and innovative approaches to the teaching area.
* Successful two-year college teaching/student experience preferred.
Contract Provisions:
* Position available August 11, 2009.
* Rank: Based on experience.
* Tenure-track position.
