The Pennsylvania State University, Altoona College, invites applications for a one-year, fixed-term appointment at the Assistant Professor level in Physics in the Division of Mathematics and Natural Sciences beginning in the fall of 2009. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in physics or a closely allied discipline, and a strong interest in undergraduate instruction. The successful candidate will be expected to teach at all undergraduate levels ranging from physics for non-scientists to rigorous courses for science and engineering majors. Teaching duties will consist of 12 contact hours per week in lecture and/or laboratory courses. The successful candidate will be expected to perform service activities (e.g., professional, university, community) and have opportunities to develop undergraduate research projects, as well as continue their scholarly activity.
