The Department of Natural Sciences is accepting applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor, Tenure-Track position. The candidate will teach lecture and laboratory courses to a diverse population of science and non-science students. The courses will include the following: General and Advanced Courses in Physics; and General and Advanced Courses in Physical Sciences. S/he will supervise undergraduate research and participate in departmental and university services. The candidate will maintain and facilitate the delivery of courses using techniques and methods for quality classroom instructions.
Applicants must have a PhD degree in Physics, as well as an academic and professional background in Physics and previous teaching experience in a four-year university setting. They must demonstrate a strong interest and proficiency in teaching in their area of expertise to science and non-science majors; (2) demonstrate an ability and interest in developing an active research that involves undergraduate students; (3) have an ability and desire to communicate tactfully with students and the public; and (4) demonstrate an excellence in teaching a diverse population and a commitment to higher academic and professional standards.
