McKendree University invites applications for a tenure-track position as an assistant professor of astronomy/physics to begin August, 2010. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in astronomy/physics or related field, have an interest in teaching and mentoring undergraduates, and possess the ability and willingness to teach general education courses in physics, astronomy, and earth science.
This position will afford a great opportunity for curriculum development in both the lecture and laboratory components of courses that are a part of the general education and science programs. McKendree is a comprehensive university with an on-campus enrollment of approximately 1300 and is located about 25 miles from downtown St. Louis in historic Lebanon, Illinois. The campus is near both Washington and St. Louis Universities and the vast cultural benefits of St. Louis.
