Curriculum and Instructional Methods Teaching Position with Emphasis in Science Instruction

The School of Education at the University of Redlands, Redlands, California invites applications for a tenure-track position in Teacher Education: Curriculum and Instructional Methods in Science. This is an 11-month contract, rank open, beginning in July 2010. The candidate must have an earned doctorate. The candidate must have experience working with culturally diverse populations in K-12 schools, and with state and national science standards. The successful candidate will teach curriculum and methods courses in the Preliminary Teacher Credential Program, advise students and do appropriate scholarship/research. All candidates should have the ability to work collaboratively with school personnel, excellent teaching skills, and an active engagement in scholarship.
Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in one or more of the following areas: standardized assessment, high school exit exam and college admission and placement tests, curriculum development, supervision of student fieldwork and working with doctoral students. The University of Redlands seeks candidates who have experience with a variety of teaching methods and curricular perspectives, previous experience working with culturally diverse populations in K-12 schools in leadership roles, and an interest in developing and implementing curricula that address multicultural issues, as well as working with doctoral students in the University's only doctoral program—the Doctorate in Leadership for Educational Justice (Ed.D.).
