One year leave replacement position in the Department of Physics. Assistant Professor (Ph.D. in physics or a related field) preferred; Instructor (ABD) possible. Grinnell College is a highly selective undergraduate liberal arts college. Approximately one-third of the college's graduates major in the sciences, including 10-15 physics majors each year, about one-half of whom are women or under-represented minorities. The College's curriculum is founded on a strong advising system and close student-faculty interaction, with few college-wide requirements beyond the completion of a major. The teaching schedule is five courses over two semesters, with labs counted as 1/2 course. The successful candidate will be expected to teach at all levels of a rigorous undergraduate physics curriculum and be an active scholar.
