The American Association of Physics Teachers, a professional membership association dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in physical science education, seeks an experienced Director of Membership. The successful candidate will lead the Association’s membership activities, including membership development and retention, oversee the development and implementation of the departmental budget, and supervise the Membership team. He/she will share with the Director of Communications and the Marketing Coordinator oversight and production responsibilities for crossover projects and materials in which all three have a common interest. Develop and track marketing efforts. Manage student membership and new member engagement programs. Research, develop, and enforce policies. Recruit, retain and relationship build with members and staff. Oversee management and operation of online Physics Store, CEU program, and AAPT Speakers Bureau.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline plus experience (5+ years), demonstrated track record of successful membership marketing campaigns in a professional organization, excellent database management skills especially in association management systems database applications such as iMIS, ability to supervise, and build consensus, and excellent financial analysis and budgeting skills. Some travel is required throughout the year to AAPT National Meetings and other conferences and seminars. Must be able to work effectively as part of a team that includes membership, programs and conferences, communications, and marketing staff.
