The Department of Physics at Washington College invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level starting in August 2017. We seek a physicist who is committed to teaching excellence and shows promise as a productive researcher at a liberal arts institution that serves undergraduate students. While the area of research specialization is open, candidates should articulate in their cover letter how their research and teaching interests complement or contribute to existing departmental and/or college strengths. All tenure-line faculty members are expected to teach introductory and advanced courses in undergraduate physics, engage students in original research, and periodically contribute to the College's first year seminar program. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Physics by the time of their appointment.

Please submit a letter of interest, a curriculum vita, statements of teaching philosophy and research interests, and the contact information for four references through the portal, Consensus at https://highereddecisions.com/wcm/current_vacancies.asp. Review of applications will begin immediately; those received by October 14, 2016 will receive full consideration.
