The Cal-Bridge and CAMPARE (California Minority Partnership for Astronomy Research and Education) programs invite applications for a Project Manager to provide leadership, administrative, and operational management support for all aspects of both programs, including supervising any additional personnel hired by the programs. The Project Manager will provide national leadership in developing, organizing, and implementing elements of the Cal-Bridge and CAMPARE programs, which have a shared goal of increasing the number of underrepresented minorities and women receiving doctoral degrees in astronomy and physics.
Applicants must have at least a master’s degree (PhD preferred), with a Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in the natural sciences or engineering. In addition, the successful candidate will have experience with issues faced by underrepresented groups in natural sciences or engineering (knowledge of effective practices in supporting minority students desired); ability to read and synthesize relevant literature; and excellent organizational, inter-personal skills, and written and verbal communication skills. Experience with program administration is desired.
