Science Non-Profit Seeks Academic Director
See the Change (www.seethechangeusa.org) works to improve science skills, especially among girls and other groups underrepresented in STEM fields, through middle school physics instruction. We do this in two fundamental ways: providing engaging, hands-on curriculum and delivering professional development that equips teachers to provide high-quality instruction.
We are searching for an academic director to join our fast-growing organization. Our ideal colleague is excited about the prospect of coaching middle-school teachers on the path to becoming effective at hands-on physics instruction. Being able to design and deliver engaging professional development is a must; deep knowledge of physics is a plus but not essential.
We are based in Colorado, but open to a person working remotely. Currently about 20,000 students in five states use our program, so it will probably be necessary to do some travel.
Our academic director will work with the team to make our curriculum stronger, our assessments more useful, and our professional development sessions even more awesome.
If the idea of delivering cool science to kids, working with a creative and motivated team, and striving to change education at a root level intrigues you, contact Dr. Spencer Downing, Executive Vice President, atspencer@seethechangeusa.org.
