Faculty - Non Tenure Track (FT)
The Physics Department is seeking a Lecturer to join their team! This is a one-year faculty replacement in the Department of Physics for the 2019-2020 academic year. Duties include teaching 15 semester credit hours in both the Fall and Spring terms. The successful candidate should be prepared to teach a variety of physics courses including lab courses, general education, service and major courses. The position is non-renewable.
Graduation from an accredited institution with a Masters degree in physics is required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Expert knowledge in physics and competence in physics pedagogy.
Ability to communicate the ideas of physics in a compelling and instructive manner.
Ability to work well with students of varying abilities.
Competence in the use of academic course management systems and other office technologies.
Competence in the use of laboratory equipment used in undergraduate physics laboratories.
Ability to write and design undergraduate physics labs.
Graduation from an accredited institution with a PhD in physics or closely related field preferred. Demonstrable experience teaching undergraduate physics.
Frequent standing, sitting, and walking, as well as frequent fine hand manipulation associated with using a computer. Continuous need to see, hear, and speak.
