TT at Saginaw Valley State

Job Summary: The Physics Department at Saginaw Valley State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin August 2009. Preference will be given to candidates having undergraduate teaching experience. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate introductory and upper level undergraduate physics lecture and lab courses, which include courses serving science and engineering majors, as well as Physics for the Health Sciences. The teaching responsibilities will total approximately 12 contact hours per semester. The candidate will be expected to involve undergraduate students in research. The Physics Department offers physics, optical physics, chemical physics, and physics teacher certification majors.

Minimum Qualifications: Candidates for this position must have a Ph.D. in Physics in experimental physics.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates having undergraduate teaching experience and laboratory experience with optical equipment.
