The Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) invites applicants for a full-time faculty position in the Department of Chemistry and Physics, starting fall 2010. Candidates must be committed to teaching all aspects of undergraduate physics. The successful applicant is also expected to be instrumental in developing new courses and collaborate on curriculum development with faculty from the newly started Biomolecular Engineering Program. A PhD in experimental (molecular) biophysics, physics or a related field and effective communication skills are required. Postdoctoral experience and additional interest in a related area are desirable. Initial appointment is expected to be at the Assistant Professor level, but applications from senior candidates may be considered for higher rank.
MSOE is a private, application-orientated university with programs in engineering, engineering technology, technical communication, business, construction management and nursing. Primarily a 4-year undergraduate institution, we emphasize excellence in teaching. Applied research involving undergraduate students, and consulting, are encouraged.
