Chapman University seeks a faculty member to fill a full time tenure track position as Assistant Professor or Associate Professor of Physics in the School of Computational Sciences which is the home of the Center of Excellence in Quantum Studies (http://quantum.chapman.edu). The school offers a B.S. degree in Physics and Computational Science and an M.S. degree in Computational Science. The school is currently developing a PhD degree in Computational Science. Housed in the Schmid College of Science, the School of Computational Sciences is deeply committed to excellence in scholarship and teaching, including providing students with personalized educational experiences involving mentoring and collaborative research.
Requirements include a PhD in Physics and evidence of strong commitment to undergraduate teaching in a liberal arts setting. The candidate must have experience and interests in foundations of quantum theory. Duties include teaching Physics and mentoring student research in Physics and Computational Science. The successful candidate will be expected to carry a rigorous research program, including grants and refereed publications. We seek candidates with independent research programs who, ideally, would also collaborate with the group led by Yakir Aharonov. Salary is highly competitive and commensurate with professional experience and qualifications.
