Instructor at Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts

The Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts, a state-supported, selective admissions residential high school for gifted and talented students is seeking applicants for a one-year sabbatical replacement in Physics beginning in August 2011 with the possibility of renewal. www.LSMSA.edu.

The successful candidate will have experience teaching college level trig and calculus-based mechanics and E&M courses. Current electives are in the areas of electronics, robotics and astronomy, and candidates that can support these electives are particularly desirable, although other areas of expertise including mechanical engineering will be considered. Along with general teaching duties candidates should be willing to work collaboratively with colleagues, provide direct mentorship of students through research and research-based competitions, and be willing to support extracurricular activities. Salary and benefits are commensurate with experience and in accordance with state guidelines.
