Assistant College Lecturer in Physics, Cleveland State University

Job Summary:
The Physics Department at Cleveland State University has an opening for an Assistant College Lecturer in Physics. The successful applicant is expected to teach physics courses and laboratories, mainly at the introductory undergraduate level. The teaching requirement is between 12 and 16 credit hours (typically four courses of 3 or 4 credit hours) per semester. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. Opportunities for summer teaching with additional compensation might also be available. The starting date of the appointment is August 21, 2017. This is a non-tenure track position. After the first year, the position will be annually renewable for five additional years based on satisfactory performance, programmatic needs, and university finances. After a successful sixth-year review, the lecturer will be eligible for two successive three-year appointments, followed by six-year appointments.

Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Physics or a closely related field (completed by July 1, 2017) and prior teaching experience in physics or a closely related field.

Preferred Qualifications:
Proven efficacy in teaching physics courses. The ability to contribute through teaching and service to the diversity, cultural sensitivity, and excellence of the academic community.
