THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF PHYSICS
The Ohio State University at Marion invites applications for a
full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor in the College of Arts and
Sciences, Department of Physics, to begin Autumn Semester, 2014.
Candidates must have an earned Ph. D. and strong commitment to and/or
evidence of excellence and accomplishment in both teaching and research.
Tenure track faculty on the Marion campus hold appointments and are
promoted and tenured in the Department of Physics at The Ohio State
University. Ohio State Marion, one of the five campuses of The Ohio
State University, is located 45 miles north of Columbus and has the
atmosphere of a small arts and sciences college (student enrollment of
1000) within a major Research I university. We seek candidates with
expertise in any field of physics, including Theoretical Physics and
Physics Education. On-site research facilities and equipment are
limited, but research collaborations between Columbus Campus faculty and
Regional Campus faculty are common and encouraged. Responsibilities
include teaching undergraduate physics courses; engaging in scholarly
research and publication; and providing service to campus, university,
