NTT at Champlain College VT

Champlain College seeks a scientist with a strong commitment to excellent undergraduate teaching and pedagogical innovation for a full-time position as Assistant/Associate Professor of Science (Biological Science or Physics). The specific rank will be determined by the qualifications of the successful candidate. While Champlain College does not offer traditional science majors, the Division of Information Technology & Sciences offers laboratory-based science courses required of all undergraduate students as part of the general education curriculum. The successful candidate will teach a variety of laboratory-based general education courses in the applicant’s field that complement the college’s career-focused academic majors and an introductory, multi-discipline Forensic Science course. The typical teaching load is three laboratory courses per semester. While there is no research requirement for retention, ongoing professional activity/development is strongly encouraged and supported. Out-of-classroom responsibilities include course development and service to the academic division and the college. Requirements include a Ph.D. in a Biological Science, Physics, or a related field, strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to work collaboratively within and across disciplines, and a firm commitment to inclusion and diversity in the workplace and education. Prior teaching experience at the undergraduate level is strongly preferred.
