TT in PER at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo [Update: phone interviews took place 2nd half of October]

PHYSICS DEPARTMENT, TENURE TRACK FACULTY POSITION(S). The Physics Department invites applications for full-time, academic year, tenure-track position(s) at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, CA, beginning 9/15/2016. Primary duties and responsibilities are to teach undergraduate physics (and astronomy if interested) and to maintain an active professional development program. 1) General, requisition #103648: Field is open and applicant should be able to provide research experiences for undergraduate students. Applicants in fields that complement the existing research activities in the department and interdisciplinary programs at Cal Poly are encouraged to apply. 2) Physics Education Research, requisition #103774: Applicants in the area of PER with research that focuses on introductory physics courses; an additional focus on upper-division laboratories or teacher preparation is also desirable. A Ph.D. in physics or related field is required and must be completed prior to start of appointment. Must provide evidence of (or potential for) high quality teaching. Rank and salary to be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
