Physics/Physical Science Instructor
East Central College has immediate opening for a full time 9-month position teaching undergraduate courses in physics and C++ Programming, which may include survey of physical science, introductory physics (technical physics), college physics (non-calculus based), general physics (calculus based), and C++ Programming. Courses may be taught at ECC Main Campus or satellite location and may include day and/or evening schedule. Advisement of students is also a responsibility of the position. Instructor is expected to develop an active learning environment with use of effective instructional technology. Summer teaching is optional. Anticipated start date: January 2017.
Minimum Qualifications: Earned a Master’s degree in Physics, Physical Science, or related field. Community College teaching experience.
Special Skills: Communication skills, including oral, written, and/or nonverbal, Knowledge of a College environment preferred, Human Relations/Interpersonal skills, Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and meet deadlines, Maintain confidentiality, Excellent collaborative skills, Competence in instructional technology, Attention to detail.
Minimum starting salary: commensurate with experience (9-month contract); Excellent medical, dental, vision and life insurance provided at no cost to the employee.
