Postdoc at Georgia Tech

The Center for Teaching and Learning at Georgia Institute of Technology is seeking a postdoctoral scholar to contribute to the Center’s teaching and learning initiatives for faculty and future faculty. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and assessment of current and emerging programs for graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and faculty professional development. The Postdoctoral Scholar position offers many exciting opportunities for career development, and for the candidate to apply and develop expertise in a wide range of programs and activities. Opportunities for this position include:
* Contributing to the success of the Center’s faculty programs and services (e.g., teaching
consultations and observations, workshop development and facilitation, Celebrating Teaching
Day, faculty learning communities, etc.)
* Contributing to the success of the Center’s future faculty programs and services (e.g., TA
training, TA Orientation, Tech to Teaching Certificate Program, academic career consultations)
* Collecting, analyzing, and disseminating research data on teaching and learning
* Providing individual consultations and classroom observations to faculty, graduate students, and
postdoctoral scholars seeking to enhance expertise in the classroom
* Teaching a graduate-level CETL course in teaching and learning or academic communication
* Exploring research-based strategies for improving teaching and learning, and for faculty and
future faculty development

Qualifications for this position include:
* Doctorate completed
* Two or more semesters of college teaching as a TA or instructor of record
* Familiarity with the literature on evidence-based teachin gandl earning techniques
* Excellent organizational and administrative skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects
* Excellent written and oral communication skills, the ability to work independently and as part of
a team, and experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders
Candidates with experience in any of the following are particularly encouraged to apply:
* Experience working in a center for teaching and learning
* Experience with learning technology
* Quantitative and/or qualitative research skills
* Ph.D. in a STEM field
* Two or more semesters of college teaching as an instructor of record
