The Physics Department of Lafayette College, a highly selective
undergraduate liberal arts institution with programs in the arts,
sciences,
social sciences, and engineering, invites applications for a one-year
Visiting Assistant Professor for academic year 2017-2018 with the
possibility of renewal for an additional year.
We are seeking
candidates with a demonstrated enthusiasm for undergraduate teaching,
and a commitment to creative instruction in a variety of settings,
including lecture, informal problem-solving workshops, and laboratory.
The successful candidate should be able to teach physics effectively at
all levels of the undergraduate curriculum. The successful candidate
will teach three courses per semester, including introductory physics
and lab, and may also teach intermediate or advanced courses,
depending on areas of interest.
A Ph.D. in physics or a closely
related field by August 2017 is required. More information about the
