Visiting Assistant Prof in Physics - one year - Claremont Colleges


The W.M. Keck Science Department of Claremont McKenna, Pitzer, and Scripps Colleges (three of the five undergraduate Claremont Colleges) seeks to hire a visiting professor in physics beginning in Summer 2017. The position is a one-year appointment. This interdisciplinary department comprises biology, chemistry, physics, neuroscience, and environmental analysis faculty. The physics discipline oversees an active pre-engineering program. We seek exceptional individuals with demonstrated excellence in teaching and scholarship. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in physics or an engineering-related field and be able to teach a range of upper-division and entry-level courses. At the foot of the San Gabriel Mountains, thirty miles east of Los Angeles, The Claremont Colleges are within a one-hour drive of Caltech, UCLA, USC, UC Irvine, and UC Riverside.
