Gainesville is a medium size town in the northeast Georgia mountains about 60-70 miles north of Atlanta. It is quite rural but a very beautiful area. Best apples ever, in season. Access to Atlanta is easy since the one thing this state seems to always be able to spend money on is building roads.

Gainesville State College has an opening for a temporary full time position in physics, starting in Fall 2010.
It is expected that this position will be converted to a tenure-track position the following academic year.
