The Division of Science, Mathematics and Computing at Bard College invites applications for a tenure-track position in Experimental Physics beginning in the Fall semester of 2012 (rank commensurate with experience). The requirements of the position are a commitment to teaching excellence in a liberal arts setting as well an active research program in an area of experimental physics, suitable for a college setting, that is open to undergraduate research involvement. The ability to work closely with faculty members throughout the Division and the College in research and curricular development will be critical, and candidates are encouraged to present any such interests that could overlap with other fields of study. The candidate is expected to teach courses at all levels within the Physics program and to develop a laboratory course at the introductory level open to the general college student. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Physics; postdoctoral experience is preferred.
