Faculty Appointment in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, Carthage College

Carthage College invites applications for a tenure-track/tenured faculty position, starting August 2012, in the Department of Physics and Astronomy within the Division of Natural Sciences. The ideal candidate will be an experimental or applied physicist who will engage students in an active, long-term program of applied physics research, in areas with significant future impact. The ability to conduct research both on- and off- campus, and develop institutional links with research consortia or national and industrial laboratories, will be especially sought for, along with evidence of solid teaching. The new faculty member will teach introductory and advanced courses in physics, mentor students in undergraduate research, and enhance departmental programs in applied and experimental physics. The successful candidate should have completed a Ph.D. in physics or engineering at the time of appointment.

Salary and benefits are fully competitive. Dependent upon qualifications and experience, the appointment will be at the rank of Associate or Assistant Professor.
