The University of Cincinnati, Blue Ash College (formerly known as Raymond Walters College) is currently accepting applications for a Visiting Instructor - Physics. The Department of Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science (MPCS) invites applications for a visiting instructor position in physics for the 2011 & 2012 academic year.
UC Blue Ash (formerly known as Raymond Walters College) is a regional campus that also awards a few four-year technical degrees. The MPCS Department currently has 20 full-time faculty with 4 teaching physics.
Job Description: We are seeking a person who is deeply committed to teaching, with accomplished teaching experience in algebra and calculus-based, first-year physics courses and labs. The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per term and may include evening and/or weekend classes; class sizes normally range from 16 to 30 students.
Applicants are encouraged to review RWC course offerings at www.rwc.uc.edu/math. The successful candidate may also be required to teach some developmental mathematics courses. Salary and rank are commensurate with experience and education.
Min. Quals.: A minimum of a master's degree in physics or physics education from an accredited institution and experience teaching physics is required. A doctorate in physics or physics education with evidence of exceptional teaching is preferred. A Master's Degree in physics with evidence of exceptional teaching will be considered.
Ideal Qualifications: A doctoral degree is a plus.
