TT at Bennington College

Bennington College, an innovative liberal arts college in Southwestern Vermont, invites applications for a full-time faculty member in Physics, starting Fall 2011. All areas of specialty are encouraged; candidates interested in developing a curriculum in astronomy/astrophysics or atmospheric physics are of particular interest.

The College observatory, available for teaching and research purposes, houses an automated, 16” Ritchey-Chrétien telescope and several smaller student telescopes. Teaching expectations include an annual two-term college physics sequence with lab, advanced offerings, and courses for the broader campus community. Also desirable is the potential for contribution to the mathematics curriculum. Applicants must have a PhD at the time of appointment and maintain active professional work/research as part of this position.
