The University of Oregon, Department of Physics invites applications for Program Coordinator for a new Science Literacy Program (SLP). This non-tenure track career faculty position at the rank of Instructor or Senior Instructor is part of a 4-year HHMI-funded Undergraduate Science Education program that is anticipated to continue beyond the grant period. The SLP is interdisciplinary. The Coordinator will collaborate with four departments, Biology, Chemistry, Geological Sciences, or Physics, and will be a member of one of them. The SLP goals are improving science literacy course teaching, providing faculty development opportunities, and training students in teaching and communication. The Coordinator will administer the SLP, participate in curriculum and pedagogy development, participate in program assessment and results dissemination, and coordinate with other UO programs. A background in science education research and a PhD in biology, chemistry, geology, or physics are required.
