Outstanding applicants are being sought for a tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level in the Physics Department at Binghamton University. Exceptionally experienced and well-qualified applicants will be considered at the rank of Associate Professor. The department seeks applicants with the ability to build and maintain an independently sponsored research program. Equally important is an applicant committed to teaching and engaging Physics undergraduate and graduate students in both research and the classroom. We are particularly interested in building our graduate program in the areas of Experimental Condensed Matter Physics, Materials Science, and Computational Materials. A Ph.D. in Physics and postdoctoral experience are required. The University has made substantial investments in its research infrastructure in the physical sciences, including funding of the Innovative Technologies Complex with more than $25 million in state-of-the-art analytical equipment and a new $2 million nanofabrication facility in the Department of Physics.
