Job Summary/Basic Function: This position is responsible for providing 15-16 hours of instruction per semester in Physics/Astronomy (Online) and for providing related curriculum and student support as well as student advising. This is a non-tenure track position.

Required Experience: Prior teaching experience, preferably at the collegiate level, is desired. Online teaching experience is a plus. Successful candidate will be required to complete online teaching training provided by Georgia Perimeter College.

Required Education: A minimum of a Master's degree in Physics/Astronomy or a sub-discipline (related field) with a minimum of 18 semester or 27 quarter graduate hours in the teaching discipline is required.
Doctoral degree preferred.

Preferred Qualifications: Ability to teach Physics/Astronomy courses effectively on the collegiate level using online technologies, relate to students and facilitate student learning. Successful candidate must be familiar with WebCT/Blackboard or related tool and have excellent communication, organizational and computer skills. Must have the ability to review, revise and accurately document teaching materials. Must be able to work effectively with Online science faculty. Ability to collaborate inter-departmental and with other college departments.

Salary Rank and 10 month salary $36,486+ (Masters) to $41,636+ (Doctorate) commensurate with experience.
