The University of Saint Francis, Department of Chemistry invites applications for a full time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor effective August 2011. Primary teaching responsibilities will include Physics, Astronomy, Earth Space Science, and Physical Survey. Required qualifications: earned Ph.D. in Physics, Astronomy, Earth Sciences or a closely related field, evidence of teaching effectiveness at the undergraduate level, experience integrating technology into teaching, and an interest in supervising students in undergraduate research.
The University of Saint Francis Chemistry Department awards degrees in Chemistry, Pre-Medical Chemistry, Forensic Chemistry, and Chemistry-Secondary Education. We seek a candidate whose credentials and experience will complement the department's programs and also contribute to the University's general education program with a commitment to the university's Catholic and Franciscan Mission and Values, and a demonstrated enthusiasm for undergraduate teaching, research, and service in a university that offers degree programs in the liberal arts, professional, and pre-professional programs
Applicants should submit an application letter, Curriculum Vita, statement of teaching philosophy (1 page maximum), a short description of research or field interest (2 page maximum), a list of non-routine equipment needs, copies of undergraduate and graduate transcripts, and three letters of recommendation.
