The Department of Physics of St. John’s College of Liberal Arts & Sciences is seeking applications for one tenure track Assistant Professor position in Physics for its Queens campus, beginning September 1, 2011. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in physics, biomedical engineering or a closely related field and postdoctoral experience is preferred. The primary qualification for this position is excellence in teaching and research. The successful candidate will be expected to teach at all levels of the undergraduate physics curriculum as well as some engineering courses, and develop a research program preferably in nanotechnology with emphasis in biomedical and energy applications.
The Department is also seeking applications for two contract appointments for full-time Assistant Professors for its Queens campus, beginning September 1, 2011. Candidates must have a Ph.D. or a M.S. with 36 additional credits in physics, engineering or a closely related field. The primary qualification for this position is excellence in teaching. The successful candidate will be expected to teach at all levels of the undergraduate physics and engineering curriculum and develop research program involving undergraduate students. One position is a one year contract and the other position is a one year contract renewable for one additional year.
