Luther College invites applications for a Visiting Instructor or Assistant Professor of Physics, a one-year leave replacement position beginning Fall 2011; potential for renewal for a second year.
Qualifications: Ph.D. preferred at time of appointment; exceptional ABDs will be considered (Instructor rank). The ideal applicant will specialize in environmental physics with a focus on energy production and usage. Seek candidates who are able to contribute to the physics program at all levels, the pre-engineering program, the environmental studies program and broad general education programs. Candidates should be committed to teaching physics at an undergraduate liberal arts college.
Responsibilities: Teaching load is the equivalent of 7 courses (typically three fall term, one in January term and three spring term) and will include both lecture courses and labs.
