JOB DETAILS:
The University of Wisconsin-Platteville School of Education seeks three tenure track assistant professors with a breadth of knowledge/experience in one or more of the following areas: early childhood, elementary education, reading, technology or STEM. These tenure-track positions will begin Fall 2015. Salary is competitive and provides excellent benefits.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Each position requires:
1. The completion of or demonstrated progress toward a Ph. D., Ed. D., or ABD in Early Childhood/Elementary Education/Reading Education/Technology/STEM or a related education field. The Ph.D. or Ed.D. must be completed prior to consideration for tenure.
2. At least three years of full-time K-12 experience
3. Strong written communication skills
4. Successful teaching evaluations
5. Development of partnerships
6. Technological skills
7. The ability to collaborate with area elementary schools and effectively integrate technology is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The primary responsibility will be to teach undergraduate and/or graduate education-related courses. A typical teaching load is twelve credits per semester. Applicants will also be expected to participate in scholarly activities, provide academic advising to students, and participate in department, college, and university service.
Teaching assignment(s) may include early childhood, elementary, reading, and/or technology education courses. Candidates will also be expected to teach foundational core courses. These positions may include teaching courses using alternative delivery methods like on-line, telepresence videoconferencing, and/or weekends.

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville, founded in 1866, enrolls about 8,000 students in 42 baccalaureate and 6 master's programs. It possesses institutional strengths in middle level education, engineering, industrial technology, agriculture, criminal justice and business.
