Part-Time Internship on Education Programs with American Institute of Physics, College Park

The American Institute of Physics Education Division is seeking a part-time (20hrs per week) Intern who will be responsible for assisting with a variety of Sigma Pi Sigma and SPS programs. The intern will work under the supervision of the Director, SPS and Sigma Pi Sigma and will be responsible for preparation and distribution of award materials and mailings, assembling materials for workshops and conferences, and sorting and organizing science outreach materials. He/she will work with staff to carryout outreach activities, make updates to program-related promotional materials, and assist with other tasks as assigned. Our office is located within walking distance of the College Park Metro and University of Maryland.

Qualifications:
At least two years of college completed in relevant scientific subject area preferred. Must be detail-oriented and internet-savvy with strong writing skills. Interest in science education essential. Excellent communication, written, and telephone skills. Experience in computer applications including Microsoft Word and Excel are required. Physical ability to perform lifting, assembly and disassembly of display components. The ideal candidate will have proven ability to work within a diverse team environment.
