Job Summary/Basic Function | The Department of Physics at Lamar University (Texas State University System) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor or a non-tenure track Instructor in Physics to begin in August 2015. The Physics Program is seeking highly qualified candidates committed to a career in teaching and research in a growing program. Teaching responsibilities will include introductory and advanced physics lectures and laboratories for physics majors, non-majors, and graduate courses in support of other programs. The successful candidate will be expected to initiate and maintain an active research program including student researchers. Seeking external funding is an expectation at Lamar University, the area of Physics research is open. |

Minimum Qualifications | The candidate must hold a PhD in Physics at the time of the application. The successful candidate must have demonstrable competency in teaching and mentoring students from culturally diverse backgrounds. |
Preferred Qualifications | Postdoctoral experience is preferred. |
